Twenty-One Stories is an excellent collection. Greene is no stranger to the feeling of dread which seems to suffuse so many of these tales, most especially his creepy story "The Basement Room," in which we see a child retreat into fear when dealing with the confidences of adults, which are beyond his ability to Graham Greene is one author whose work I read mostly when I was younger/5.

This book was written in and as far as I know was the first collection of Paul Bunyan tales to be published. Because of its age, this one would not work well with younger readers.* Language was different in ; without background knowledge on Paul, younger readers will quickly lose interest in /5.
